AIR END
Curtis air-ends are manufactured to ISO-9001 standards. The R/S
profile with it's high precision finish offers you the shortest
possible sealing line ton minimize internal loses. Along with
low running speeds, our design gives you maximum CFM output per
brake horsepower. Zero wear Curtis rotors run in an oil bath and
have no metal to metal contact. Large, oversize diameter
bearings give you more than twice the needed thrust loading for
extended air-end life. |

INSTRUMENTATION
The display includes discharge and sump pressure gauges,
temperature gauge, hour meter, dual high air/oil temperature
shut down switches with indicating light, start-stop buttons,
timed dual control switch, standby light, power on light and
optional PSID indicators.
ELECTRICAL CABINET
Conveniently located with hinged access door. Built in across
the line magnetic starters with thermo overload protection
ensures long motor life. 115 volt control circuit with fused
protection is provided for safe operation. Standard NEMA 1
control panel comes U.L. and C.U.L. listed with electrical components
U.L. and C.S.A. approved. |
LOW POWER CONSUMPTION
For proven maximum energy savings, Curtis offers as standard on
line-off line and start-stop control with delay off timer.
Modulation also comes standard on 25-50 HP units. During load
cycle, compressor capacity automatically adjusts to system
demand. When system demand drops, sump system automatically
blows down to a low idle pressure and maintains extremely low
unloaded horsepower. Unit can also be set to shutdown after a
predetermined idle period. Lead-lag/sequence control is
available. Start-stop control is standard on 5-7.5 HP units.

AIR/OIL SEPARATOR
Large multi-stage design ensures maximum oil separation. Final
separator element is sized that under full capacity flow, the
velocity through the filter element is Less than 1 ft/second for
optimal efficiency. Large ASME/CRN rated separator tank is
equipped with vented oil-fill plug, oil level sight glass,
safety relief valve and minimum pressure discharge valve. Easy
to service spin-on separator system is used on 5-7.5 HP base mounted
units. |
ELECTRIC MOTORS
Curtis R/S Series is designed using off the shelf
motors and drive train parts. Heavy duty NEMA design motors are
used to ensure long, dependable life.
LEAK FREE DESIGN
Using minimal components along with SAE O-ring
sealed connections, Curtis units are designed to eliminate
potential leaks. |
SIDE BY SIDE AIR/OIL
COOLER
Our large, oversize coolers allow for low approach temperatures
and provide for a cooler running compressor and enhanced unit
performance. Thermostatically controlled oil bypass valve
ensures optimum oil temperature to extend air-end life. our side
by side coolers also offer easy access for cleaning.
BASE OR TANK MOUNTED
Curtis offers both configurations to meet your installation
requirements. ASME tank mounted units offer you reduced system
floor space. Tanks can also be easily field mounted.
AIR OR WATER COOLED
DESIGN
Depending on your requirements, Curtis offers water cooled units
in addition to our standard air cooled packages.
